Base preparation beneath a retaining wall is of critical importance, but even more important to a wall's ability to hold back the earth over time is the attention paid to the area directly behind the retaining wall.

Successful water drainage from behind your retaining walls is the largest single factor affecting the long-term success of your walls. And when a retaining wall project reaches a certain height (which is different for each different brand of retaining wall block), we consult with civil engineers to determine the appropriate location, frequency and length to install geogrid soil stabilization. Walls over four feet in height constructed without geogrid and without a drainage system behind them are destined to fail. For us, retaining wall failure is not an option. To that end, we guarantee our retaining walls for five years from the date of installation.
